GS1 Singapore Food Safety Forum 28 July 2016
GS1 Singapore is proud to organise our inaugural GS1 Food Safety Forum 2016 on 28 July at Singapore Manufacturing Federation (SMF). Aptly themed “Gaining Consumer Trust Through Traceability in the Food Supply Chain”, this forum aim to bring together food manufacturers, importers, distributors and food retailers together to gain a better understanding of industry’s needs, identify areas of mutual benefit for collaboration and learn practical food safety solutions to implement in any size operation.
Amidst a climate of continuing food threats around the world, Singapore has remained vigilant in monitoring the environment and putting in place stringent food safety standards.
Agri-Food & Veterinary Authority of Singapore (AVA) adopts a science-based risk analysis and management approach based on trusted and respected international standards to evaluate and ensure food safety and safe food production practices in Singapore. The food industry needs to work hand-in-hand with the government to make sure food they offer to consumers is safe.
The food industry is responsible for the safety of the food it offers to the public. Food producers, manufacturers, importers and distributors in Singapore have to maintain high food safety standards by complying with AVA's stringent requirements.
